National Instruments PS-2 Desktop DC Power Supply

Recommended to be used with NI Single-Board RIO and NI CompactRIO, the NI PS-2 (Part Numbers: 777584-01, 777584-02, 777584-04, 777584-05, and 777584-06) is a 24 VDC, 0.8 A Desktop DC Power Supply. This model can be ordered with multiple input voltages, designed to be used with different countries. The NI PS-2 is considered a safe solution to be used during a desktop’s prototyping as other industrial power supplies can be dangerous in this setting.

 This Power Supply can also be used to power an entire bank or eight FieldPoint I/O modules. The NI PS-2 is an easy to install and easy to use power supply since its output can be connected to the Compact FieldPoint Controller directly. That controller then regulates and distributes power to its respective bank of I/O modules.

The National Instruments PS-2 is known for its safety features since it comes with short circuit, under voltage, and overcurrent protection. Actuation of any protection results in immediate tripping of the unit as a protective action for both the supply and the connected load. The National Instruments PS-2 Power Supply can be operated at universal input voltages within the range of 100 to 240 VAC. Though it is not as efficient as the latest versions (PS-14/15/16/17), the PS-2 is still a practical option concerning reliability and efficiency. In typical operating conditions, the user can anticipate a net efficiency of 80 to 85 % from this Power Supply. The PS-2 is offered in a “brick” form factor and cannot be mounted in a panel.
