National Instruments PC-Step-2CX 2-Axis Stepper Controller

The PC-Step-2CX is a Closed-Loop ValueMotion Stepper Controller. The NI PC-Step-2CX is manufactured by National Instruments. This Stepper Motion Controller is a part of the ValueMotion Family of Motion Control Boards by National Instruments. The NI PC-Step-2CX can be installed with multiple types of application software such as BridgeVIEW, LabVIEW, and LabWindows. The PC-Step-2CX board can be programmed with ValueMotion driver software on a computer.

The NI PC-Step-2CX is used for computers with the Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) bus slots. The National Instruments PC-Step-2CX is configured as a fully programmable motion controller. The PC-Step-2CX provides four independent axes of motors. This Stepper Controller also renders additional input/output options for limitation purposes. The PC-Step-2CX gives input/output control over home-switches. The PC-Step-2CX can be utilized for position or velocity handling applications and is also capable of point-to-point position. This Stepper Motion Controller is great for velocity and event-based motion profiling systems as well.

The PC-Step-2CX is developed as a closed-loop stepper board. The National Instruments PC-Step-2CX Motion Controller offers velocity feedback by utilizing quadrature encoders. The PC-Step-2CX board uses step/direction digital outputs for commands. The NI PC-Step-2CX is capable of handling half, full, and micro-stepping applications. In operating mode, when changing to a new velocity, this Stepper Motion Controller does not use an acceleration value because it can result in large velocity changes in abrupt motion. The NI PC-Step-2CX has a maximum stepper frequency of 750,000 steps/s and a maximum encoder frequency of 1 MHz.

PC-Step-2CX Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
