National Instruments PCI-7324 Motion Controller

Designed to operate in open or closed-loop mode, the National Instruments PCI-7324 is a Stepper Motor Motion Controller. This Controller comes with quadrature encoders for velocity and position feedback. The NI PCI-7324 can be utilized for any micro-stepping, half, and full applications. National Instruments offers a broad range of optional equipment including connector blocks, cables, amplifier units, Universal Motion Interfaces, and other accessories to use with the PCI-7324. For integrated motion inhibit provision and signal conditioning, users can consider UMI connectivity blocks as well.

 This Motion Controller is fully compatible with PCI Local Bus Specs, Rev 2.1. Thus, the host computer will automatically perform all configuration-related tasks. Most of the settings, including I/O port direction and limit switch polarity, are accessible through software and require no switching of jumpers. However, some settings do involve jumper adjustments for proper configuration. This Motion Controller can be installed quickly to any empty 5 V PCI slot on a computer. The National Instruments PCI-7324 comes with one 68-Pin Digital I/O connector and one 68-Pin Motional I/O connector.

For accurate position controlling, this device features trapezoidal profile control. Thus, it offers point-to-point based motion controlling on the basis of the difference between the desired target and the current position. With this module, at lower speeds, the user can boost the acceleration since it allows the user to control the acceleration factor. The NI PCI-7324 also offers event-based motion profiling- an advanced feature in which motion control functions are preloaded into trigger buffers located on the device`s onboard memory.
