National Instruments 778692-03 Arbitrary Waveform Generator Device

National Instruments part number 778692-03 is the version of the PCI-5421 Arbitrary Waveform Generator that has 256 MB of onboard memory, which is the same as 268,435,456 bytes. This high-performance generator is incredibly versatile, allowing the user to adjust and define many of the settings to best fit their testing system. Two separate output modes set the 778692-03 apart: arbitrary sequence mode and arbitrary waveform mode. These modes determine which waveform to use in the testing application, either by picking one from a group in the onboard memory or through the use of segments and sequences.

Designed for accurate and precise signal generation, the 778692-03 has a vertical resolution of 16 bits. Both of the output channels (arbitrary sequence and arbitary waveform) boast 512 kS of waveform memory. The device also features a sample clock that has a max sample rate of 100 MS/s.

The 778692-03 is able to generate a variety of waveform shapes which have different maximum frequencies. When using a high-gain amplifier, the maximum frequency for sine waves is listed at 43 MHz. The analog filter and digital interpolation filter should be disabled for square, ramp, and triangle waves- which have maximum frequencies of 12.5 MHz, 5 MHz, and 5 MHz respectively. While the maximum frequencies for sine, ramp, and triangle waves remain the same when using a low-gain amplifier, the maximum for square waves increases to 25 MHz.

Designed for safe use in a variety of settings, the 778692-03 meets the requirements for the following EMC standards: EN 61326-1, EN 55011, AS/NZS CISPR 11, FCC 47 CFR, and ICES-001.
