National Instruments PCMCIA-FBUS Fieldbus Interface Device

The PCMCIA-FBUS Fieldbus Interface Device is produced by National Instruments. The NI PCMCIA-FBUS can be purchased under part numbers 777457-01 and 777457-31. The PCMCIA-FBUS can be configured with the NI-FBUS Communications Manager driver software. This Fieldbus Interface Device can be programmed via multiple types of software, including LabVIEW, Lookout, and NI-FBUS Configurator as recommended by the manufacturer. The PCMCIA-FBUS can additionally be used with Visual Basic and C/C++ software. This device can operate on Windows XP/2000/NT operating systems.

The main function of the NI PCMCIA-FBUS is to connect FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices to regular desktop, industrial, and notebook PCs. The PCMCIA-FBUS is built with a single port for interfacing devices. The PCMCIA-FBUS device is designed to be used for applications, such as the configuration and maintenance of devices and networks in the field and compact data logging. The NI PCMCIA-FBUS has a 500 mA typical current level. This Fieldbus Interface Device operates with a maximum 750 mA current level.

The National Instruments PCMCIA-FBUS device contains a DB-9 male D-Sub connector, as well as Combicon-style pluggable screw terminals. These two connectors are on a cable utilized to link the device to the fieldbus. The NI PCMCIA-FBUS device is verified with the FCC Class A certification for EMC requirements. This Fieldbus Interface Device can be operated under the ambient temperature of 0 to 55 °C.
