National Instruments PXIe-1082 PXI Chassis

The National Instruments NI PXIe 1082 (Part Number: 780321-01, 198666J-01L) Chassis meets the requirements of a wide range of high-performance test and measurement applications because of its high-bandwidth backplane. This model accepts PXI Express modules in every slot and supports standard PXI hybrid-compatible modules in as many as four slots. The device has a maximum system bandwidth of 8 GB/s. The NI PXIe 1082 features an extended operating temperature range for applications that require cooling performance.

The PXIe 1082 NI integrates a high-performance 8-slot PXI Express backplane with a high-output power supply and a structural design that has been optimized for maximum usability in a wide array of applications. The PXIe 1082 Chassis operates on an extended temperature range up to 55 °C for applications in demanding environments. All the features of the latest PXI specifications, including support for both PXI and PXI Express modules and built-in timing and synchronization features, are integrated into this Chassis.

This model comes with a remote power-inhibit control and variable speed fan controller that optimizes cooling and acoustic emissions. Its 38 W per slot cooling meets increased PXIe cooling requirements.  The PXIe 1082 power supply, temperature, and fan monitoring features are highly reliable, as the device is HALT tested for increased reliability.  The model has quiet operation for 0 to 30 °C at 43.6 dBA.

Optional accessories include the PXIe 1082 rack mount, slot blockers, a replacement power supply shuttle, and EMC filler panels. The AC powered device weighs 19.4 lb, and measures 6.97 (h) x 10.69 (w) x 15.61 (b) inches in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -40 to 71 °C, a non-condensing operating and storage humidity range of 10 to 90% and 5 to 95% respectively, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively–all at a frequency range of 5 Hz to 500 Hz.
