National Instruments PXI-7314 PXI Motion Controller

The National Instruments PXI-7314 is a Stepper Motor Controller for PXI bus computers. This Motion Controller offers utterly programmable motion control of motors with additional I/O for home and limit switches, as well as various other general-purpose functions. With this controller, the user can fulfill requirements across a broad range of velocity control or position applications with support for event-based motion profiling, velocity profiling, and point-to-point position modules. In addition, this model also supports micro-stepping, full, and half applications. With this model, the user will be able to access the motion I/O signals using an external 68-position connector.

The National Instruments PXI-7314 Stepper Motor Controller comes equipped with a 68-pin, high-density female VHDCI connector. The 24-bit digital I/O port can be accessed through an external 68-pin, high-density female VHDCI connector. This Motion Controller implements a trapezoidal profile control, as well as a point-to-point motion based on the delta between the current and the desired target position by means of programmed velocity and acceleration values.

The NI PXI 7314 can be operated in the velocity control mode that allows the user to continue motion at a predefined velocity until a home or limit switch is intercepted or until a force kill or stop function is ordered. This Motion Controller comes equipped with advanced, event-based motion profiling. The event-based motion profiling allows preloading of motion control functions into integrated memory trigger buffers. This feature is best suited for precise coordination or semi-autonomous operation with external events.
