The National Instruments PXI-8115 has the capability to alter the amount of RAM installed by upgrading the SO-DIMM. The options for the upgraded SO-DIMM include: 2 GB, 256 MB x 64; 4 GB, 512 MB x 64; and 8 GB, 1024 MB x 64. The PXI-8115 Dual-Core Embedded Controller can also be operated with ExpressCard modules. The NI device has 8 external connectors with some of them being a 9-pin DSUB, 2 RJ45s a 36-pin champ, a 25-pin Micro D among others. The device weighs 1.32 kg, and measures 3.2 x 5.1 x 8.5 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended base operating temperature range of 5 to 50 °C, and an extended temperature range of 0 to 55 °C.
