National Instruments PXIe-8102 PXI Controller

The PXIe-8102 (Part Numbers: 781184-00, 781184-01, 781184-02, 781184-33) is a PXI Controller manufactured by National Instruments. The NI PXIe-8102 is an Embedded Controller designed for PXI and CompactPCI systems. The PXIe-8102 delivers high performance. The NI PXIe-8102 comes within a rugged packaging that incorporates standard I/O terminals. When the PXIe-8102 is combined with a PXIe-compatible chassis, it forms a fully functional PC-compatible computer. The difference between the part numbers of the PXIe-8102 are the operating systems they are compatible with. Part number 781184-00 uses local OS, part number 781184-01 uses Windows XP, part number 781184-02 uses Windows Vista, and part number 781184-33 uses Real-Time Embedded Software. 

The National Instruments PXIe-8102 PXI Controller features a 1.9 GHz, dual-core processor. The processor used in the PXIe-8102 is an Intel Celeron Dual-Core T3100 processor. The minimum storage memory of the NI PXIe-8102 is 80 GB. The standard RAM memory is 1 GB. However, the RAM memory of the PXIe-8102 can be extended up to 4 GB. The NI PXIe-8102 incorporates a DVI-I analog/digital video channel.

The different communication ports that are available in the PXIe-8102 PXI Controller include a serial port, a parallel port, and an Ethernet port. Moreover, 2 USB ports are also incorporated in the NI PXIe-8102. These USB ports are capable of high-speed data transfer. The serial port used in the PXIe-8102 is an RS-232 port. The NI PXIe-8102 PXI Controller also features a PXI trigger and a reset button.

The PXIe-8102 PXI Controller can work with application software such as Measurement Studio, LabVIEW, and LabWindow/CVI. The driver software of the NI PXIe 8102 PXI Controller is NI-DAQmx. The PXIe 8102 also supports Microsoft VB, Visual Studio .NET, and Visual C++. The supported operating systems of the NI PXIe 8102 Controller are Windows Vista and Windows 7 Professional. 

The NI device weighs 1.42 lb, and measures 1.59 x 5.14 x 8.51 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 5 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –40 to 65 °C, an operating and storage humidity range of 10% to 90% and 5% to 95% respectively, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively–all at a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.

PXIe 8102 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
