Astronics Ballard Technology/National Instruments LV-222-511-511 PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module

Featured with built-in circuitries for hardware testing and PPS timing functionality, the LV-222-511-511 (Part Number: 784798-01) is an Interface Module that offers PXIe to MIL-STD-1553 connectivity. This module comes with 4 channels provided on 2 single function MIL-STD-1553 modules. The LV-222-511-511 is based on an OmniBus II carrier module, which comes from the manufacturer Astronics/Ballard Technology. The carrier module comes with 2 cores. Each core has a dedicated CPU. You can attach two different or two similar STD-1553 modules to the carrier card. Each channel provided on this PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module can be programmed independently. Messages carried by these channels may also be tied to PXI triggers or discrete triggers. 

This PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module is provided with a powerful and interactive Configuration Manager– a graphical, software tool that assists the user in configuring the module easily. The LV-222-511-511 supports a variety of tests and data logging applications where PXI access of well-known avionics databus is desired. You can use this module for the construction of a control or monitoring system to utilize your PXI based hardware resources in conjunction with avionics databuses. Without this PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module, the MIL-STD-1553 avionics databus cannot be accessed.

This module has integrated test circuitries that operate like a watchdog. The LV-222-511-511 is designed to be deployed in any PXIe slot of a compatible chassis. This PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module requires three slots for deployment and is powered by the integrated supply of the host chassis. Thus, you won’t require an external supply for the LV-222-511-511.
