The LV-222-555-000 (Part Number: 784800-01) is an Interface Module. This module is based on a carrier module from the Astronics OmniBus2 product portfolio. The carrier module can host as many as two interface modules. These interface modules are offered in a variety of types and with different numbers of channels. The interface module incorporated in this module is designed to provide an interface between the PXI and MIL-STD-1553 data bus. The MIL-STD-1553 databus is one of the most widely used communication protocols in the avionics and aeronautical industries. This protocol defines the rules of communication and its parameters between various devices, systems, and resources that are commonly found in airplanes. In other words, the MIL-STD-1553 controls the flow of information across the local area network that exists in highly sophisticated flying machines.

Similarly, you can enhance the channel count of your LV-222-555-000 by adding another single function or multifunction MIL-STD-1553 module into the existing system.
