National Instruments PXIe-2543 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module

The PXIe-2543 (Part Number: 780587-43) is a solid-state 6.6 GHz RF Multiplexer Switch Module from National Instruments, with dual 4x1 multiplexer technology. The NI PXIe-2543 module incorporates built-in FET relays, which enable the user to perform measurements quickly through the fast switching mechanism. These relays are extremely durable and can maintain their performance in tough industrial environments.  The device has a minimum input frequency of 10 MHz, a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω nominal, and a maximum safe DC input voltage of ±8V.

The PXIe-2543 RF Multiplexer Switch Module has a low value of switch operating time, which is 76 microseconds. This is measured with reference to TRIG IN falling to 10% to the 90% of final value at the output. The input trigger of the device has the pulse width of 150 nanoseconds. It can also recognize trigger pulse widths that are less than 150 nanoseconds. The digital filters are disabled to recognize such trigger pulse widths. The NI PXIe-2543 module has the pollution degree of 2.

The PXIe-2543 RF Multiplexer Switch Module incorporates various connectors on the front panel, including 10 SMA jacks. These are female input/output connectors. It also includes 2 SMB jacks. These jacks are female and enable users to implement trigger mechanisms. The power need for the NI PXIe-2543 RF module is 0.4 W at 12 Volts and 1 W at 3.3 Volts. The instrument also complies with various industry standards to fulfill safety requirements, including IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, CSA 61010-1. This module also meets the electromagnetic compatibility requirements for electrical equipment.

The PXIe 2543 is run using the NI-SWITCH driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio.

It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C, a non-condensing humidity range of 5% to 85%, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively – all at a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.
