National Instruments PXI-2722 Programmable Resistor Module

The National Instruments PXI-2722 (Part Number: 781985-22) is a 5 Channel, 16-Bit PXI Programmable Resistor Module. It is a test module that is used to replicate the performance of resistance-based inputs/outputs, including voltage dividers, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), bridge elements, and potentiometers. This module can control an array of relays programmatically to achieve regulations across each channel of an input/output connector.

This tendency makes the NI PXI-2722 an ideal solution for precisely simulating environmental conditions in HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) validation. The National Instruments PXI-2722 offers 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I (channel-to-channel) and 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I (channel-to-ground) maximum voltage, 0.3 A maximum current (per channel), 0.25 W maximum power (per channel), 100 ppm TCR, 0.25 Ω steps resolution, and 0.25 Ω to 16,320 Ω (per channel) range. The typical channel accuracy remains around <10.0% while operating with channel set between 20 Ω and 40 Ω and <5.0% while working with channel set between 40 Ω and 120 Ω.

With this Programmable Resistor Module, the user can achieve a simultaneous drive limit of 89 relays. The relays utilized in the PXI-2722 Programmable Resistor Module have a typical relay life of 1 × 10⁸ cycles (at low power load <50 mW) and 1 × 10⁶ cycles (at full power load <250 mW). The NI PXI-2722 comes equipped with a 37-pin D-SUB front panel connector and 2 × 2 Micro-Fit DMM port connectors. By design, this module is a 3 U, one slot, PXI module which consumes 11 W of power while operating 5 V.
