National Instruments PXIe-2725 PXI Programmable Resistor Module

The PXIe‑2725 (Part Number: 781986-25) is a Programmable Resistor Module that imitates the behavior of resistance-based inputs and outputs such as potentiometers, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), voltage dividers, and bridge elements. The NI PXIe‑2725 is programmed to control a series of relays to vary the resistance across each channel of an I/O connector. This module comes with software that provides a simple user interface that accepts inputs in units of temperature or resistance, configuring the resistance across each channel.

The PXIe‑2725 is ideal for simulating environmental conditions in hardware‐in‐the‐loop (HIL) validation. This Programmable Resistor Module uses a 37‐pin D‐SUB connector on the front panel, as well as a 2x2 Micro‐Fit connector for easy connection to a PXI Digital Multimeter (DMM). This module has 18 channels with a maximum voltage of 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I1 (channel-to-channel) and 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I1 (channel-to-ground). The maximum current is 0.3 A (per channel) and the maximum power is 0.25 W (per channel). This module has resolution in 1 Ω steps; the range is between 1 Ω to 255 Ω (per channel).

For channel set between 20 Ω and 64 Ω, the channel accuracy is <5.0% and <2.0% for channel set between 64 Ω and 255 Ω. The dimensions (L × W × H) of the NI PXIe‑2725 are 21.6 × 2.0 × 13.0 cm (8.5 × 0.8 × 5.1 in.) and the module weighs 323 g (11.3 oz).
