National Instruments 781012-01 PXI Digital Waveform Instrument

The 781012-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the version of the PXIe-6548 PXI Digital Waveform Instrument that has 1 Mbit of onboard memory per channel. Designed to create high-speed digital waveforms, the 781012-01 is especially helpful in applications such as semiconductor manufacturing and capability testing for high-speed serial connections. This waveform instruments boasts 16 generation and 16 acquisition channels for a total of 32 channels which each support 1 mb of onboard memory. This results in a total of 4 MBytes for both generation and acquisition. 

The 781012-01 supports timing functionalities such as sample clock generation and flexible triggering / event handling. The available extended data mode allows for the user to operate 24 channels with direction control on a per-channel, per-cycle basis.

The memory architecture of the 781012-01 is based on Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) technology, which facilitates the sharing of onboard memory between both waveforms and instructions. Flexible for use within a wide variety of test setups, the 781012-01 has a number of parameters are able to be defined by the user. 

When it comes to waveform generation, the 781012-01 supports both single-waveform and scripted modes. Single-waveform mode generates a waveform either once, a set number of times, or continuously. On the other hand, scripted mode generates either simple or complex waveform sequences.

The 781012-01 has dimension measurements of 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm and weighs in at only 519 g (18.3 oz).
