National Instruments PCIe-7846R Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device

The National Instruments PCIe-7846R (Part Number: 786456-01) is a Multifunction I/O Device that can be reconfigured by the user. This device comes equipped with a Kintex-7 FPGA and can acquire samples at a maximum rate of 500 kS/s. The FPGA (field-programmable gate array) is user-programmable and can be reconfigured with the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module. Thus, you can develop customized applications to suit your specific requirements by reconfiguring or customizing the FPGA. 

Unlike typical data acquisition devices, the NI PCIe-7846R Multifunction I/O Device offers individual channel triggering and multi-rate sampling across different channels. This Multifunction I/O Device features 48 bidirectional digital channels and allows you to operate with a selectable analog input voltage range. The eight analog input channels can operate in RSE, NRSE, and DIFF input modes. You can choose the required input mode through software. This selection applies to each analog input channel.  

The National Instruments PCIe-7846R Multifunction I/O Device has a 16-bit resolution, successive approximation register ADC which can convert the received analog input signals into digital signals while operating with a conversion time of 2 µs. The AI channels of this device operate under default overvoltage protection that is set to actuate at ±42 V maximum voltage. 

The 8 analog output channels on the NI PCIe-7846R device offer 16-bits resolution. These channels can operate with a maximum update rate of 1 MS/s. For the conversion of digital signals into analog signals, the PCIe-7846R Multifunction I/O Device comes equipped with enhanced R-2R digital-to-analog converters.
