National Instruments PXI-7813R PXI Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module

The NI PXI-7813R Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module (Part Number: 779362-01, 188744F-03L) has 160 bidirectional Digital I/O lines and a Virtex-II XC2V3000 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). The distinction in ground potential between two instruments associated with a similar building power framework is commonly about 1 and 100 mV. This distinction can be considerably higher if control appropriation circuits are improperly associated. If a grounded signal source is improperly estimated, this difference may show up as an estimation mistake. The association guidelines for grounded signal sources are intended to wipe out this ground potential distinction from the measured flag.

This model offers a DIFF input mode, where the NI PXI-7813R measures the distinction between the positive and negative sources of inputs. DIFF input mode is perfect for estimating ground-referenced signals from different gadgets. When utilizing DIFF input mode, the input signal interfaces with the positive contribution of the instrumentation enhancer and its reference signal, or return, associates with the negative contribution of the instrumentation intensifier. Differential signal associations decrease noise pickup and increment common-mode noise rejection. Differential signal associations also permit input signals to float inside the common-mode limits of the instrumentation intensifier.

The user can arrange the PXI-7813R channels in software for RSE or NRSE input modes. They can also utilize the RSE input mode for floating signal sources. For this situation, the NI PXI-7813 R Series gives the reference ground point to the external signal. The NRSE input mode can be used for ground-referenced signal sources. For this situation, the external signal supplies its own reference ground point and the PXI-7813R does not need to supply one. The device has a SCB-68 shielded connector block.

Application Development Environments such as LabVIEW and the LabVIEW Real-Time Module are used to build applications that govern the NI 7813R, while LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA Module are used in programming the NI PXI-7813R. The PXI-7813R should be calibrated at least once a year–if used frequently in extreme temperature, it should be calibrated multiple times.

PXI-7813R Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
