National Instruments PXI-7833 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device

The PXI-7833 is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device from National Instruments. The part number of this device is 779360-01. This model is an R Series device with 16-bit analog channels. The PXI-7833 features an onboard FPGA chipset, which allows the user to configure the timing and functionality. This device supports real-time data logging and floating-point processing. The LabVIEW RT software is required for this purpose. The PXI-7833 device is compatible with the RTSI bus. This model also features flash memory. The PXI-7833 can save a startup VI in it and the FPGA can load automatically upon device power-up.

The PXI-7833 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device has eight analog channels to input data. This device supports multi-rate sampling for the input channels. The PXI-7833 supports 3 input modes. These modes are software-selectable. The supported input modes are DIFF, NRSE, and RSE. All channels can be configured on the same input mode. The PXI-7833 also features 8 analog output channels, which have a resolution of 16 bits. The PXI-7833 additionally has 96 channels for digital data. They can operate either as input or output channels. The digital channels are independently configurable for input or output. The PXI-7833 has three 68-pin connectors for 96 digital channels and other connections.  This device features an FPGA, which is a Virtex-II V3000.

The PXI-7833 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device can communicate with other PXI modules. A PXI local bus is available for this purpose. The PXI local bus is a daisy-chained type bus. This device is equipped with calibration DACs. These DACs minimize the measurements and output errors. The PXI-7833 has different levels of calibrations. Self-calibration is one type available, while external calibration is another option for more accuracy.

PXI-7833R Obsolete Status has been declared by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
