National Instruments PXIe-7846 PXI Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module
The National Instruments PXIe-7846 (Part Numbers: PXIe-7846R and 784143-01) is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module. This model features a user-programmable, Kintex-7 160T FPGA and can acquire samples at an astonishing 500 kS/s. The NI PXIe-7846 offers direct control over I/O signals and high-performance onboard processing. To develop applications requiring precise control and timing, such as custom protocol communication, high-speed control, and sensor simulation users can customize their PXIe-7846 by using LabVIEW FPGA.
For independent triggering and timing, this module comes equipped with a Successive Approximation Register (SAR) 16-bit, dedicated A/D converter (ADC) per channel. Thus, this module can provide users individual channel triggering and multi-rate sampling- capabilities which are seldom found in typical data acquisition hardware. The NI PXIe-7846 has 8 analog input channels capable of operating at three different operating modes: DIFF, NRSE, and RSE. This module comes with overvoltage protection set at ±42 V for the powered-on state and ±35 V for the powered off state.
As far as its analog output characteristics are concerned, the PXIe-7846 offers 8 single-ended, voltage output channels with16 bits resolution, 1 μs update time, and 1 MS/s maximum update rate. The type of DAC incorporated in this Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module is an Enhanced R-2R. This model supports DC input and output coupling. The input and output of the NI PXIe 7846 can be configured for user-defined power-on and power-off states. This module can support an external clock as well. This module has two 68-pin VHDCI type I/O connectors.
