National Instruments PXIe-7857 PXI Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module

The National Instruments PXIe-7857 (Part Numbers: PXIe-7857R and 784146-01) is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module for PXI Express systems. This module is designed to provide 48 Digital Inputs/Outputs, eight Analog Inputs, and eight Analog Outputs. The robust onboard processing and I/O signals direct controlling capabilities are attributed to the user-programmable, integrated Kintex-7 160T FPGA on the NI PXIe-7857. In addition, dedicated Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) are provided per channel for independent triggering and timing.

As far as its analog input characteristics are concerned, the National Instruments PXIe-7857 can operate in multiple, software-selectable input modes at 16 bits, 1 µs conversion time, 1.25 GΩ â•‘ 2 pF powered-on, and 4 kΩ (minimum) powered off-impedance. The ADC incorporated in this module is a Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC. The PXIe-7857 offers comprehensive protection for overcurrent, overvoltage, and undervoltage conditions on all of its input and output lines. This module can acquire analog input samples at 1 MS/s. An Enhanced R-2R DAC (digital-to-analog-converter) enables this module to generate single-ended, voltage type outputs, at 16 bits resolution through its 8 channels across a range of ±10 V.

The National Instruments PXIe-7857 allows DC input and output coupling. This Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module offers a user-configurable power-on state. For facilitating its 48 DIO channels, the NI PXIe-7857 has two LVTTL, LVCMOS compatible connectors with 3.3 V default software setting and software-selectable logic family provision. This module can provide 4.0 mA source and sink DC output current per channel. The NI PXIe-7857 has two 68-pin VHDCI connectors, 18.5 cm × 17.3 cm × 3.6 cm dimensions, and weighs around 170.9 g.
