National Instruments PXI-6122 Multifunction I/O Module

The PXI-6122 (Part number: 779179-01) Multifunction I/O Module designed by National Instruments has four input channels, eight digital I/O channels, two timing I/O channels, 16 bits resolution, 500 kS/s maximum sampling rate for each channel, and a 68-pin male SCSI-II type I/O connector. The National Instruments PXI-6122 can be used in numerous industry applications. This module has software-selectable input ranges and input channel isolation features, as well as PXI and PXI Express platform compatibility.

Multifunction data acquisition hardware necessitates onboard timing circuitry to control digital, analog, and counter I/O lines. The PXI-6122 Multifunction I/O Module contains the NI-STC3 chipset, which delivers two enhanced counters, a 100 MHz timebase, and further options for I/O timing and triggering. This PXI Multifunction I/O Module utilizes the intrinsic timing and synchronization features of the PXI family to coordinate measurements among numerous modules. Self-calibration is another useful feature of the PXI-6122 Module. Self-calibration allows the module to characterize gain, nonlinearity, and offset mistakes in the module. NI-MCal is the self-calibration algorithm which characterizes and stores the correction polynomials to an onboard EEPROM in mere seconds. NI-MCal has the valuable capability to return calibrated information from each channel in a scan, even if they are at varying input ranges. Consequently, the National Instruments PXI-6122 can then load and enact correction functions for each channel without slowing down the performance.
