National Instruments PXI-6132 Multifunction I/O Module

The PXI-6132 (Part numbers: 779127-01, 188611G-02) Multifunction I/O Module is from the S Series designed by National Instruments. This module comes equipped with helpful features, such as mass termination linking, NI-STC3 timing technology, modular PXI platform with the capability tailor I/O towards the user, programmable input gains to maximize resolution, and the capability to stream information through PCI Express.

The DAQ hardware on the PXI-6132 digitizes signals, completes D/A conversions to create analog output signals, and measures and controls digital I/O signals. The DAQ system timing controller or DAQ-STC is utilized for time-related roles. There are three timing groups, including: AI, AO, and general-purpose counter/timer functions. These groups can be configured individually for timing resolutions of either 50 ns or 10 μs. Numerous types of internal timing signals can be linked to other internal blocks with the use of the DAQ-STC. Certain buffered and non-buffered operations are supported by the DAQ-STC as well. These include: single pulse or pulse train creation, digital input and output, buffered waveform acquisition, buffered period measurement, and various others.

The +5 V pins on the I/O connector on the National Instruments PXI-6132 provide +5 V power. These pins can be referenced to D GND to power external circuitry. The +5 V pins, however, cannot be linked to analog or digital ground or any other voltage source on an S Series model or any other device.
