National Instruments SC-2054 Cable Adapter

The National Instruments SC-2054 (Part Number: 776515-00) is a Cable Adapter specially designed for Signal Conditioning. This adapter adopts the I/O connector of various data acquisition devices to a variety of signal conditioning accessories. The NI SC-2054 can work with SC-204x, SC-206x, 5B, SSR, and ER-8/16 Series accessories. This Cable Adapter is one of the finest solutions available to assist you with the minimization of error in your measurements. In some applications, little errors can create great troubles. Thus, your system must deliver precise results. To use the SC-2054 cable adapter, the following are needed: a DAQ device, a computer, and a cable to connect the board to the DAQ device. 

The basic function of the NI SC-2054 is the routing of data acquisition device I/O lines to other signal-conditioning accessories. This Cable Adapter is widely used in demanding applications, such as in aviation, laboratory, industrial control, robotics, etc. It is important to understand that the SC-2054 should only be used with a compatible device.  You are not supposed to use the SC-2054 to interconnect two accessories that require common I/O signals.   

This Cable Adapter can convert half of the 96 digital connector signals to standard pin connections. You can use this Cable Adapter with 6508 and DIO-96 devices. In addition, it is also compatible with the DIO-24 devices. However, for DIO-24 devices, another model (SC-2051) is considered a better choice. The NI SC-2054 comes with four 50-pin ribbon cable connectors and six 26-pin ribbon connectors. This Cable Adapter comes with metal standoffs. Thus, it can be placed in a workbench near the host computer or device. However, a rack mount is available as well and can be purchased separately. The adapter requires no additional software apart from the software used in running the DAQ device.

The NI device measures 7.9 x 4.9 x 1.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° C to 70° C, and a storage temperature range of –55° C to 150° C.

SC-2054 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the cable adapter will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
