National Instruments SC-2060 Digital Input Module 

The SC-2060 (Part Numbers: 776336-00 and 776336-10) is an optically isolated 8-channel Digital Input Module. The SC-2060 is manufactured by National Instruments. The NI SC-2060 is a part of the SC-206x Series of boards. The SC-2060 module is prepared with 8 digital input channels that are optically isolated. This module can be routed back to NI DAQ devices. The SC-2060 module can be connected to the 8-bit digital DAQ ports of many National Instruments’ devices by using the SC-205x Series bus adapter modules.

The NI SC-2060 contains inputs with independent voltage connections. The SC-2060 module is capable of sensing digital signals with a maximum of 400 Vrms by utilizing the optocouplers. A reference is created for low-level and high-level logic. For example, a 9 V digital signal below the reference is taken as low logic, while a high-level logic is based on a 3 V digital signal below the reference. This Digital Input Module has a maximum current rating of 20 mA for each input. A resistor is used for handling the current limits in applications with higher currents. The device has a maximum power consumption of +5 VDC at 210 mA. It does not need any additional software for operation; only that used for the DAQ board.

The NI SC-2060 can be placed on a workbench near a host PC. Another option is to place the SC-2060 in a rack-mounted chassis. The National Instruments SC-2060 module is used with the SC-2050 Series modules; a 19-inch single rackmount is shared between both modules. The SC-2060 Digital Input Module can be grounded by the standoffs with the chassis. The device is equipped with 1 26-pin male ribbon-cable I/O connector. Additionally, it has 18 screw terminals. The NI device measures 5.2 x 4.9 x 1.8 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° to 70° C, a storage temperature range of -55° to 125° C, and a non-condensing operating and storage humidity range of 5% to 90% and 5% to 90% respectively.

SC-2060 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
