National Instruments SC-2062 Electromechanical Relay Digital Output Board

The SC-2062 is an Electromechanical Relay Board with multiple different part numbers: 776336-02 with a 0.2 m NB7 SC-205X Cable and 776336-12 with a 0.4 m NB7 SC-205x Cable. It can also be found with part number 180937C-01. This Relay Board can be mounted to sit on a workbench or in a rack-mount chassis with a flat plastic cover or metal wraparound cover. Like the other models in the SC-206x Series, the NI SC-2062 can be linked to any 8-bit digital port of many NI DAQ instruments. The user simply has to utilize the SC-205x Series cable adapters. Several of the DAQ devices which can be linked to the SC-2062 include: the E Series/60xxE, 6503 (DIO-24), 6533 (DIO-32HS), as well as 6508 (DIO-96). The NI SC-2062 does not require any software other than what is required for the Data Acquisition Board used with it.

The SC-2062 enables the user to effortlessly control various field digital signals with a computer that has a National Instruments data acquisition board. When the SC-2062 is used with a model from the SC-205x Series, the SC-2062 can deliver relay output for the NI data acquisition boards for the following computers: PC/XT/AT, Macintosh II, and IBM PS/2 Micro Channel computers.

There are three links for each channel on the NI SC-2062: NO, NC, and COM. There is a tiny opening between the screw terminal blocks of nearby channels. A note of caution is that while connecting or disconnecting signal lines to the screw terminals, it is necessary to turn the power off the lines. Variations between the lines and the SC-2062 ground generate a shock risk while joining the lines. Additionally, power signals to ground should not surpass the maximum input or output signal ratings on the SC-2062 Relay to prevent the board from being damaged. The NI device is equipped with one 26-pin male ribbon-cable connector and 26 screw terminals.

The NI device measures 5.2 x 4.9 x 1.8 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° to 70° C, a storage temperature range of -55° to 125° C, noncondensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 5% to 90%.
