National Instruments SCXI-1581 Analog Output Module

The NI SCXI-1581 (Part Number: 777966-81) can be used with the following terminal blocks: SCXI-1300, SCXI-1310, BNC-2095, or TBX-96. The SCXI-1300 is a Front-Mount Terminal Block with screw terminals. Next, the SCXI-1310 is a custom kit designed for custom connections. The BNC-2095 is a Rack-Mount Terminal Block for BNC connections. Finally, the TBX-96 is a DIN EN Mount Terminal Block with screw terminals. Also, the user should note that when the SCXI-1300 is linked to the SCXI-1581 module, it is not possible to measure the onboard temperature sensor.

This Analog Output Module has 32 channels with 100 µA current excitation. The extreme preciseness and dependability of the current sources ensures they are ideal for measuring resistance with the utmost preciseness. When the SCXI chassis is turned on, the 32 current sources on the SCXI-1581 are enabled. The SCXI 1581 is well-suited in any application involving a 100 µA fixed current excitation like RTDs and thermistors. This module can be used in conjunction with the SCXI-1102 to result in a high-channel-count RTD measurement system.

The back signal connector on the NI SCXI-1581 Analog Output Module is utilized for linking and communication between the module and an E/M Series DAQ instrument. The CH0 signal pair is utilized for transmitting analog signals from other modules to the linked E/M Series DAQ instrument in multiplexed mode. If the SCXI 1581 is linked straight to an E/M Series DAQ instrument, then the remaining analog channels of the E/M Series DAQ instrument can be used for general-purpose analog input since they are not linked to the SCXI-1581 in multiplexed mode.

SCXI-1581 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
