National Instruments PCI-232/4 Serial Interface

Featured with up to 115.2 maximum transfer rate and 64 B FIFO, the National Instruments PCI-232/4 (Part Number: 777642-04) is a 4-port, RS-232 PCI card. This model comes equipped with a 10-position jack, whereas it is also available in 2-port, 8-port, and 16-port variations. Each of these mentioned builds come with similar features, but different types of I/O connectors. The 2-port version comes with a DB-9 connector, the 8-port model with SCSI 68-pin interface, and 16-port model with SCSI 100-pin female connectors.

The National Instruments PCI-232/4 is an asynchronous interface for communicating with various other devices and instruments via the serial port. This model comes with Windows-based plug-and-play compatibility, which brings the advantage of easier installation and configuration. This Serial Interface can be deployed effortlessly. The user can access it like other standard serial ports from their PC operating on the Windows platform.

The NI PCI-232/4 Serial Interface is compatible with NI LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, and LabWindows/CVI, etc. This module can be operated over a range of 10 to 90% relative humidity. This model comes equipped with a 6C650 compatible, UART controller and supports 32-bit and 64-bit PCI bus, as well as 3.3V and 5V Connector Keys.  When purchasing this Serial Interface, the user can opt to order cables for the transformation of phone jacks to either DB-9 type or DB-25 type male connectors. However, it should be kept in mind that a converter cable cannot be utilized to cover the full distance from the NI PCI-232/4 directly to an instrument.
