National Instruments PXI-PROFINET PXI PROFINET Interface Module

The PXI-PROFINET (Part Number: 786308-01) is a 2-Port Interface Module that provides connectivity between PROFINET industrial networks and PC-based controllers. This module is designed by KUNBUS. This module comes with the LabVIEW instrument driver for SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and HMI (human-machine interface) applications. Users can utilize these interfaces for the automated testing of their PROFINET devices. PROFINET is a powerful technical standard that is widely used for data transmission over Ethernet. This standard is specially designed for collecting data and controlling equipment widely found in the process manufacturing industry. 

The NI PXI-PROFINET Interface Module is used to convert a regular PXI chassis into a PROFINET slave or master that can communicate with other third-party PROFINET networks. This Interface Module supports complete Plug&Play functionality, since the configuration does not require any manual intervention, such as adjustment of jumpers or DIP-switches. The PXI-PROFINET comes equipped with a 1.3 GHz PowerQUICC III CPU and 1 GB of DDR II RAM.

This Interface Module has 32 MB of onboard flash memory for system information and firmware. The two Ethernet interfaces incorporated in this module have standard Ethernet termination. Each Ethernet interface has a separate RJ45 jack. This module consumes around 7 watts of power while operating in typical conditions. Through the NI PXI-PROFINET module, you will be able to connect your PC based controllers to industrial networks as slaves or powerful masters through PROFINET industrial networks. The NI-VISA driver compatible with this module enables you to access your PXI-PROFINET module for configuration and various other maintenance related tasks.
