National Instruments USB-232/4 Serial Interface Device

The NI USB-232/4 (Part Number: 778473-04) is a 4-Port Serial Interface Device. This device is designed to transform a standard USB port into 4 standard serial ports. The USB 2.0 connector on this device is a B-type plug. The four serial ports can be accessed through separate DB-9 male connectors. This Serial Interface Device is bus-powered and relies on the power supplied by the USB serial bus. Thus, you are not required to acquire an additional power supply to operate your NI USB-232/4. You can use this device with a broad range of computer programs and applications that use standard COM ports. 

The National Instruments USB-232/4 Serial Interface Device is designed to be hosted by a regular personal computer operating on Microsoft Windows. In the Windows environment, this device appears like a hardware serial communication port.
