National Instruments USB-8476S LIN Interface Device 

Featured with synchronization capabilities, the National Instruments USB-8476S (Part Number: 779795-01) is a LIN Interface Device. This USB based model is designed for logging, monitoring, and testing your LIN network. The USB-8476S features master/slave termination with a provision of software selection and has one port. This LIN Interface Device comes equipped with a powerful, integrated LIN transceiver, i.e. Atmel ATA6620. The ATA6620 is a powerful transceiver designed to comply with the requirements as defined in the ISO-9141 standard. The NI USB-8476S is known for its power synchronization capabilities because it has all the required resources to fulfill tight integration demands of LIN, CAN, digital, and analog measurements that are often found in various automotive applications.

This LIN Interface Device can share triggering and timing signals with a broad range of vision devices, USB interfaces, as well as motion and data acquisition devices. With hardware-controlled triggering and timing signals, optimal determinism remains maintained between the trigger signal and the required response. With the USB-8476S, you can synchronize different parameters through software to correlate data according to your requirements.

The fully integrated LIN transceiver incorporated in this LIN Interface Device has a built-in 5V/50 mA low-drop voltage regulator. Thus, the ATA6620 offers a powerful combination of bus transceiver and voltage regulator to develop powerful yet simple slave nodes. This LIN controller is designed to work with low-speed data communication often found in vehicles. To guarantee minimized power consumption, the ATA6620 can operate in Sleep mode and Silent mode. In addition to a 9-pin D-Sub connector, the NI USB-8476S has a 3-pin COMBICON connector that is used for synchronization.

USB-8476S Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the LIN Interface Device will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
