National Instruments ISC-1712 Smart Camera

Powered by a 400 MHz processer, the NI ISC-1712 (Part Number: 782433-01) is a monochrome Smart Camera from National Instruments. This model is renowned for compact, rugged housing, which makes it an ideal candidate for harsh industrial environments. The ISC-1712 can be equipped with a 1/3-inch Sony ICX424AL CCD image sensor and can provide you with still shots at a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. The lens utilized in this imaging device is a standard C-mount lens. As far as its communication capabilities are concerned, the NI ISC-1712 offers 1 Gigabit Ethernet port and 1 RS-232 serial port. 

The National Instruments ISC-1712 Smart Camera requires an external power supply to operate. You can find a variety of 24 VDC power supplies to be used with this device from National Instruments. The Ethernet port incorporated in this Smart Camera is used for communication between the development computer (host computer) or other network devices and the ISC-1712. The Ethernet port can connect to 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) Ethernet networks, since it comes with an auto-negotiating capability. The NI ISC-1712 comes equipped with 256 MB of SDRAM and 512 MB of non-volatile memory. 

With this Smart Camera, you can achieve almost unlimited image storage by connecting it with an Ethernet hard drive or by using an FTP server. The VGA sensor incorporated in the ISC-1712 is capable of shooting at a maximum frame rate of 60 fps while operating in full scan mode. You can operate this device at a better speed in terms of frames per second by selecting ½ scan, ¼ scan, or binning mode.
