National Instruments ISC-1732 Smart Camera

NI has launched the NI-17xx Smart Cameras for machine vision applications. These cameras are used in a variety of applications like part location, code reading, defect, and assembly verification. The ISC-1732 (Part Number: 781682-01) belongs to this Smart Camera Series.

The NI ISC-1732 renders a simple vision system that gets all accessories together in one place. For this feature, NI offers a combination of a charge-coupled device image sensor with an onboard PowerPC processor.

NI offers various smart cameras to meet the needs of machine vision applications. The ISC-1732 supports machines for vision in real-time. In conjunction with an onboard processor, the NI ISC-1732 contains a 1/3-inch Sony Monochrome ICX424AL CCD sensor. The ISC-1732 has a 400 MHz PowerPC processor. The ISC-1732 features a VGA based image sensor of 640 by 480 pixels that provides an acquisition rate of 60 frames per second (fps). Many of the smart cameras from the NI-17xx Series feature a direct drive lighting controller, but the National Instruments ISC-1732 Smart Camera does not.

The NI ISC-1732 is built with two optionally isolated digital inputs and two digital isolated outputs. To simplify Ethernet-based communication, the ISC-1732 consists of two Gigabit Ethernet ports. An RS232 port is the serial port of the NI ISC-1732. Quadrature encoder support has also been provided in the ISC-1732. Just like the other NI-17xx Smart Cameras, the NI ISC-1732 is configured with either NI Vision Builder or LabVIEW Real-Time. Both types of configuration software comprise hundreds of analysis and image processing functions.

ISC-1732 Maintenance Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Smart Camera will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
