National Instruments ISC-1744 Smart Camera

The ISC-1744 (Part Number: 780403-01) is a Smart Camera used for automated inspection and many other machine vision applications. The NI ISC-1744 is a type of smart camera that is a part of the NI-17xx Smart Camera Series. The ISC-1744 is made by National Instruments. The NI ISC-1744 is used in multiple industrial applications for detection, location, and verification purposes.

Like all the NI-17xx Smart Cameras, the compact rugged metallic housing of the ISC-1744 Smart Camera also incorporates a PowerPC processor, an image sensor, and digital I/O. The ISC-1744 utilizes a 533 MHz processor, similar to the one found in the ISC-1742. The NI ISC-1744 is designed with a higher-resolution monochrome CCD image sensor. The value of pixel depth for the higher-resolution ISC-1744 Smart Camera is 1.3 megapixels (1280 x 1024). Since the resolution of the CCD sensor is four times higher than the other NI Smart Cameras, the ISC-1744 can inspect objects even for smaller defects.

The National Instruments ISC-1744 Smart Camera incorporates a built-in direct drive lighting controller. The ISC-1744 also offers quadrature encoding support with a built-in encoder. The NI ISC-1744 Smart Camera includes two isolated digital optional inputs, as well as two digital isolated outputs. The ISC-1744 comes with dual Gigabit Ethernet to simplify Ethernet-based communication with external devices. The NI ISC-1744 is fabricated with an RS-232 serial port. The ISC-1744 can be programmed with the Real-Time module from LabVIEW or can be configured with Vision Builder AI software. Spatial calibration, particle analysis, color inspection, edge detection, image segmentation, and many other analysis and image processing features are offered in both types of configuration software.

ISC-1744 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Smart Camera will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
