National Instruments ISC-1778 Smart Camera

Featured with 512 MB system memory and a 5 mega pixel C-Mount lens, the ISC-1778 is a Smart Camera from National Instruments. This Smart Camera is designed for production lines where machines are utilized for visual inspections. You can easily control this Smart Camera through your existing control system. The NI ISC-1778 can provide you with monochrome images at a resolution of 2448 x 2050 pixels.

This Smart Camera contains a 2/3-inch sized sensor that is capable of acquiring still images at a maximum speed of 15 fps. The National Instruments ISC-1778 Smart Camera comes with digital I/O, as well as Ethernet and serial communication interfaces. Thus, you can easily create a powerful visual inspection system comprising your DCS or PLC controllers and the NI ISC-1778. This Smart Camera is used with a Sony ICX625AL CCD sensor that is capable of shooting images with a pixel size of 3.45 × 3.45 micrometers.  

The Ethernet interface incorporated in this Smart Camera supports communication in both full and half-duplex modes and can auto-negotiate to adjust the connection speed according to your existing Ethernet network speed. With the ISC-1778, you won’t require manual IP assignments since it supports DHCP. Thus, you can self-assign an IP address by communicating with the DHCP server. The NI ISC-1778 comes enclosed in an IP 67 rated metal enclosure and can withstand harsh industrial environments. However, outdoor use is not recommended by the manufacturer. The VGI video out connector enables you to install an external display device directly with a camera.

ISC-1778 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Smart Camera will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
