National Instruments PPC-2115 Industrial Panel PC
The National Instruments PPC-2115 (Part Number: 779862-01) is an Industrial Panel PC (PPC). The NI PPC-2115 is fanless, has a 1 GHz Intel Celeron M processor, along with a rugged 15-inch LCD display used for larger HMI (human machine interfaces). In order to save panel space, the PPC-2115 also has a 2.5-inch display. The 15-inch display is a TFT (thin film transistor) color display. It is a high-quality display available with a touch screen. The contrast ratio of the 15-inch XGA TFT LCD display is 500:1. The LCD also has 120 degree viewing angle, two CCFL backlights with a lifetime of 50,000 hours, a power rating of 3.3 to 5 V, and a durability of up to 100 million touches. In order to utilize LabVIEW front panels, the user can combine the National Instruments LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module with the PPC-2115. The 512 MB RAM device has a storage space of 40 GB HDD.
A large range of connection options are also provided with the NI PPC-2115. The PPC 2115 PC connectivity options include one RS485 port, two RS232 ports, two high speed Universal Serial Bus ports (for USB DAQ and NI Compact DAQ), one GB Ethernet port (for CompactRIO, Compact FieldPoint, PXI/CompactPCI), one fast Ethernet port, one VGS port, and a parallel output port. The parallel output port can be used for printers (NI hardware). For keyboard and mouse connections, the NI PPC 2115 has a port known as PS2. The PPC-2115 also has a CompactFlash port; this port is used for the storage of removable data logging. Additionally, the device has three audio ports: one for line in, one for line out, and one for a microphone, along with a PCMCIA slot. The device weighs 5.5 kg (without HDD), and measures 373.5 x 297.5 mm in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, and a storage temperature range of –20 to 60 °C.
PPC-2115 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Industrial Panel PC will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
