National Instruments UMI-Flex4 Universal Motion Interface Accessory       

The UMI-Flex4 is a universal motion interface (UMI) accessory used for controlling multiple motion control boards. The NI UMI-Flex4 is produced by National Instruments. The UMI-Flex4 is suitable for lab and industrial applications. This Universal Motion Interface Accessory can be used with a SH100-100-F shielded 100-pin interface cable to connect to FlexMotion boards. An ISO power supply can be optionally used with the UMI-Flex4 as well.

The NI UMI-Flex4 has four removable 5-position screw terminal blocks, one for each axis. The first two terminal blocks are for servo axes 1 and 2. The third terminal block is jumper configurable and supports axes 3 and 5, along with stepper axis 5. The fourth terminal block is jumper configurable and supports servo axes 4 and 6, as well as stepper axis 6.

This Universal Motion Interface Accessory is manufactured with a terminal block for incremental encoders. This block renders eight positions for encoder interfaces. The UMI-Flex4 is developed with an individual terminal block that provides 6 ports per each axis for a limited switch interface. The NI UMI-Flex4 can provide interfaces to 4 of 8 analog input channels based on a single terminal block with 6 connecting ports. These channels are associated with FlexMotion devices. The UMI-Flex4 is configured with one terminal support for output wiring of breakpoints.

The NI UMI-Flex4 is available with one power wiring terminal block that requires a voltage supply of +5 V for appropriate usage. The UMI-Flex4 has an output current of 60 mA sink maximum. The NI UMI-Flex4 can be DIN-rail mounted.

UMI-Flex4 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the accessory will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
