National Instruments USRP-2922 Software Defined Radio Device

The USRP-2922, a product designed by National Instruments, is a USRP Software Defined Radio Device. The NI USRP-2922 is a high-speed radio frequency (RF) transceiver that comes with the NI part number 781909-01. The USRP-2922 is a single input channel and single output channel device that can be tuned in LabVIEW software through a NI-URSP instrument driver software tool. The NI USRP-2922 can effectively be used in WiFi, WiMax, and ISM band communication applications.

The USRP-2922 USRP Software Defined Radio Device consists of a transmitter and a receiver that support a wide frequency range of 400 MHz to 4.4 GHz. In the USRP-2922 device, both the transmitter and receiver operate at a frequency step less than 1 kHz and frequency accuracy of 2.5 ppm. The transmitter part features a two-channel digital to analog (DAC) converter supporting a sampling speed as high as 400 MS/s. The DAC resolution of the transmitter component is 16-bit. On the other hand, the receiver section of the NI USRP-2922 device contains a a two-channel analog to digital (ADC) converter. This ADC converter has a sampling rate of 100 MS/s and an ADC resolution of 14-bit. At 16-bit sample width, the USRP-2922 RF transceiver supports up to 20 MHz instantaneous real-time bandwidth. Moreover, the NI USRP-2922 RF transceiver contains one 10 Gigabit Ethernet port through which baseband I and Q signals are streamed to the host PC.

The USRP-2922 requires an external 6 V, 3 A DC power supply for energization. The maximum power consumption of the NI USRP-2922 device is 18 W. The USRP-2922 works optimally in the temperature range of 23 oC ± 5 oC.
