National Instruments VME-PXI8015 VME MXI-2 Interface Kit

Designed for CompactPCI/PXI systems, the VME-PXI8015 (Part Number: 777590-02) is a VME MXI-2 Interface Kit from National Instruments. This kit fully supports VXIplug&play compliance and can be installed or removed from an operating system without causing any interruption. This kit can be used to establish a direct link between any CompactPCI or PXI system to the VMEbus via a high-speed MXI-2 link. Any CompactPCI or PXI system equipped with an NI VME-PXI8015 kit operates as if it is plugged into a VME backplane directly. Thus, you can take advantage of an embedded VME controller on your external PXI system through this device.

This kit brings direct interrupt and trigger control capabilities. Moreover, you can also achieve high-performance DMA transfers through your VME-PXI8015. This VME MXI-2 Interface Kit comes with a PXI-8320 plug-in circuit board, a VME-MXI-2 interface board, a 2 m MXI-2 cable, and software for Windows. The NI VME-PXI8015 utilizes the standard MXIbus. Thus, it can offer sustainable connectivity with high-performance MXI-2 cables and connectors at a maximum burst throughput of 33 MB/s. This kit can easily be deployed with a CompactPCI or PXI chassis to control VME, enabling you to construct systems that can take advantage of numerous features of different bus architectures.

The NI VME-PXI8015 is a Windows compatible device and can easily be configured with NI-VXI or NI-VISA. With this kit, you can achieve a sustained transfer rate of 23 Mbytes/s.  The PXI-8320 included in this kit is a system interface board for the MXI-2 bus. The board is a 3U-size, 32-bit card that can serve as the MXIbus system controller as well.

VME-PXI8015 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the interface kit will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
