National Instruments VXI-DIO-128 Digital I/O Module

The VXI-DIO-128 (Part Number: 777161-01) is a Digital I/O Module for VXI. The NI VXI-DIO-128 is manufactured by National Instruments. The VXI-DIO-128 is designed specifically for VXIbus systems. This Digital I/O Module is capable of reading switches and drive relays. The NI VXI-DIO-128 is equipped with an I/O connector. This connector is installed on the front panel of the Digital I/O Module. This I/O connector is the link through which all channels are accessed. The VXI-DIO-128 module comes with NI-DAQ driver software.  

This Digital I/O Module is a 128-channel module. Half of the channels are designated as digital inputs, while the other channels are used as digital output signals. The National Instruments VXI-DIO-128 has 8 PPIs. These PPIs have 16-bit resolution. However, these 16-bit ports are reconfigurable and can be used as 8-bit ports as well. In 8-bit mode, 8 ports are inputs and the other 8 are outputs. The input and output channels are controlled by 82C55A PPI chips. The NI VXI-DIO-128 has a total of 8 PPI chips: 4 for inputs and 4 for outputs.  

The National Instruments VXI-DIO-128 can interface a VXIbus system with several devices, including panel meters, solid-state relays, LEDs, electromechanical relays, and I/O module mounting racks. This Digital I/O Module is ideal for a broad variety of applications. The main uses of the NI VXI-DIO-128 are in the field, product and laboratory testing, process monitoring, and industrial control applications.  

VXI-DIO-128 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
