National Instruments VXI-PXI8015 VXIbus Interface Kit

The VXI-PXI8015 is a VXIbus Interface Kit for PXI/CompactPCI systems. The NI VXI-PXI8015 was manufactured by National Instruments. The VXI-PXI8015 kit is available for order in two versions. One kit comes with a 2 m flexible MXI-2 cable (Part Number: 777589-02), while the other version (Part Number: 777589-32) does not include a cable. These kits also include one PXI-8320 plug-in circuit module, one VXI-MXI-2 module, and driver software. The driver software of the NI VXI-PXI8015 is NI-VXI/VISA.

This VXIbus Interface Kit is designed to link a CompactPCI or PXI system to the VXIbus directly. A high speed MXI-2 cable link is used to establish an interface between the VXIbus and a PXI/CompactPCI system. The VXI-PXI8015 enables the system to function as an embedded computer instead of an external PC. Thus, an external PC is given all the functionality of an embedded VXI computer. A system that is designed using the NI VXI-PXI8015 kit has all the features of VXI bus architecture.

The National Instruments VXI-PXI8015 VXIbus Interface Kit also offers direct control of VXI triggers and interrupts. Users can access the VXI memory space easily without the aid of any additional software. The VXI-PXI8015 is a plug-and-play device and offers full compatibility with VXI slot 0. The NI VXI-PXI8015 offers two modes for communication. The compatible communication modes are message based and register-based communication. The VXI-PXI8015 can also transfer data between a VXIbus and PXI controller.

VXI-PXI8015 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the VXIbus Interface Kit will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
