National Instruments VXIcpu-030 Embedded Computer

The VXIcpu-030 is an Embedded Computer for VXIbus systems. The NI VXIcpu-030 has been designed and manufactured by National Instruments. The design of the VXIcpu-030 is based on a 68030-microprocessor. The hardware architecture is taken from the MVME147S processor board. The MVME147S board is a VMEbus processor board designed by Motorola. The NI VXIcpu-030 supports C function calls and several interactive utilities, which makes it capable of complete VXI functionality.

This Embedded Computer comes pre-configured. The default configuration of the VXIcpu-030 allows for it to function as a system controller of VXIbus Slot 0. This configuration of the National Instruments VXIcpu-030 Embedded Computer is the most popular and widely used in different applications. However, if an application requires some other configuration, the VXIcpu-030 configuration can be modified by using jumpers and switches. The VXIcpu-030 comes with NI-VXI driver software. The driver software of the NI VXIcpu-030 can be installed on VxWorks OS.  

This Embedded Computer is suitable for a variety of applications. The NI VXIcpu-030 is compatible with multiple interfaces. Some of the standard interfaces included with the National Instruments VXIcpu-030 kit are an intelligent Ethernet Interface, RS-232 ports, SCSI interface, and a high-speed IEEE 488/IEEE488.2 interface. The SCSI interface of the VXIcpu-030 is provided support by an onboard DMA. The NI VXIcpu-030 has 2 RS-232 ports. Other than these interfaces, the VXIcpu-030 also offers some optional interfaces. The optional interfaces of the VXIcpu-030 include 8 RS-232 ports, a printer interface compatible with Centronics, and an internal hard disk drive.  

VXIcpu-030 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the embedded computer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
