National Instruments VXIpc-386/2 Embedded Computer

The VXIpc-386/2 (Part Numbers: 181010-XY0 and 181480-XY0) is an Embedded Computer. The NI VXIpc-386/2 was manufactured by National Instruments. This Embedded Computer has been specifically designed for the VXIbus systems. The VXIpc-386/2 requires two slots and is equipped with a 20 MHz 80386 microprocessor.

The VXIpc-386/2 was developed on the Industry Standard Architecture (ISA). The National Instruments VXIpc-386/2 is a user-friendly and high-performance VXI controller. The VXIpc-386/2 supports QuickBASIC and C Function calls. This feature offers complete functionality for VXI systems using different interactive utilities. Another special feature of the NI VXIpc-386/2 is its compatibility with the NI-488.2 architecture. The VXIpc-386/2 has been equipped with an IEEE-488 interface for this purpose.

This Embedded Computer comes with several options for flexible memory, including an internal hard drive, floppy drive, and different I/O expansion kits. These kits are used for interfacing with a PC. The NI VXIpc-386/2 is also compatible with the external floppy drive when there is not an internal floppy drive present in the controller.

Several optional accessories for the VXIpc-386/2 Embedded Computer include single-shielded and double-shielded GPIB cables. These cables are available in lengths ranging from 1 m to 4 m. The NI VXIpc-386/2 can be installed by using the driver software NI-VXI and NI-488.2. Another type of optional software supported by the VXIpc-386/2 Embedded Computer is the LabWindows VXI Library.    

VXIpc-386/2 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Embedded Computer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
