National Instruments VXIpc-871B VXIbus Controller

The VXIpc-871B is an embedded VXIbus Controller. The manufacturer of the NI VXIpc-871B is National Instruments. The VXIpc-871B is available in four versions. These versions have similar specifications except the installed operating system. The part numbers of these different versions are 778295-00 (No OS), 778295-01 (Windows 2000), 778295-02 (Windows NT 4.0), and 778295-03 (Windows XP).

The NI VXIpc-871B is a high-speed controller featuring a Pentium-III processor. The VXIpc-871B uses an Intel 815E chipset. The processor used in the VXIpc-871B has a frequency of 1.26 GHz. The VXIpc-871B comes with multiple ports for different types of connections. This feature makes it ideal for a large number of applications. The standard ports that are available in the VXIbus Controller include an Ethernet port for RJ45 connection, an SCSI port, parallel and serial ports, a GPIB connector, USB ports, and PS/2 ports. In addition, the NI VXIpc-871B incorporates a CD-ROM drive with 24X max speed. The VXIpc-871B is also fully compatible with the VXI Slot 0.

The VXIpc-871B comes with NI-VXI/NI-VISA driver software, which makes the VXIbus Controller a fully plug-and-play device. Thus, any software that is VXIplug&play can be run on the VXIpc-871B. The included driver software, NI-VXI/NI-VISA, also offers a VXIbus interface library that can be used with different software programs and compilers. The important software that is compatible with the NI VXIpc-871B controller includes Measurement Studio, LabVIEW, Microsoft Visual C++, and Microsoft Visual Basic.

VXIpc-871B Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
