National Instruments VXIpc-873/700 Embedded Computer

The NI VXIpc-873/700 (Part Numbers: 778342-111 and 778342-211) is the most powerful model from the VXIpc-870 Series of Pentium based VXIbus Controllers. This modular PC is known for its powerful hardware resources and low cost. This controller is an x86 processor architecture based embedded computer with a PCI bus and AGP port. It is an easy to use, high-performance platform available for VXIbus system control.

The NI VXIpc-873/700 comes featured with full VXI functionality through C function calls and interactive utilities. Moreover, the availability of Ethernet connectivity and a GPIB interface makes it even more powerful. The NI VXIpc-873/700 is a custom computer that can be installed in your VXI mainframe directly. This Embedded Computer is fully compatible with a broad range of PC-compatible software applications, such as NI LabVIEW, NI-VXI, LabWindows/CVI, etc. This Embedded Computer comes equipped with a powerful chipset Intel 440BX. The 440BX connects the processor to the AGP port, SDRAM, and the PCI bus. The 440BX provides higher performance by employing a 100 MHz bus for the SDRAM and CPU connections.

The NI VXIpc-873/700 comes with a Super IO block as well. This block contains a parallel port, serial ports, keyboard port, and a mouse port. The serial ports incorporated are capable of communicating at rates up to 460.8 kbits/s. The parallel port supports all modes of ECP and EPP standards. This device comes with VXI voltage monitor circuitry – an onboard logic to confirm all VXI backplane voltages. Resettable fuses are also provided on all voltage lines except the +5 V line.

VXIpc-873/700 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the embedded computer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
