National Instruments WSN-3226 Combo Node for WSN

The National Instruments WSN-3226 (Part Numbers: 781295-01 and 781295-02) is a 4-Channel, 20-bit Combo Node for Wireless Sensor Networks. This Combo Node is a low-power voltage/resistance device with two bidirectional digital channels and four single-ended channels. A regular wireless sensor network contains one or more wired gateways, PACs, and /or PCs. In these networks, various kinds of wireless nodes are used. Each node operates independently. The measurement acquired by the wireless nodes is transmitted to the host computer or controller through a wireless gateway.

The NI WSN-3226 can be operated in two modes: 3-wire RTD and voltage mode. You can select a different mode for each channel of this Combo Node. The inputs of the WSN-3226 are sampled at an ADC resolution up to 20 bits.

This Combo Node offers single-ended DC measurements, while operating in voltage mode. You can connect a voltage signal to each analog input channel. The WSN-3226 supports 3-wire RTDs, while operating in resistance mode and has three selectable ranges. However, in resistance/RTD mode, all channels operate at the same resistance range. To provide you with precise measurements, the NI WSN-3226 offers integrated compensation for the probable lead resistance errors.

This Combo Node can be powered by 4 AA size 1.5 V batteries. National Instruments recommends lithium or alkaline batteries for the WSN-3226. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended. Where applicable, the NI WSN-3226 Combo Node can also be operated employing a 5–30 V external power supply. 

WSN-3226 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the combo node will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
