National Instruments WSN-9791 Ethernet Gateway Device 

Featured with IEEE 802.15.4, 2.4 GHz radio transmission capabilities, the NI WSN-9791 (Part Numbers: 780998-02, 780998-12 and 198479B-04L) is an Ethernet Gateway Device designed for National Instruments wireless sensor networks. This device comes equipped with a 2.4 GHz radio for collecting measurement data from one or multiple modes operating on the same sensor network. The NI WSN-9791 delivers the collected data to a LabVIEW Real-Time OS or Microsoft Windows Host controller through the Ethernet port. This Ethernet Gateway Device can communicate with multiple devices deployed in outdoor environments if the link distance does not exceed 300 meters. 

The Ethernet port incorporated in this device is a standard port that supports 10 or 100 Mbits/s Ethernet connections. In any NI WSN network, the WSN-9791 acts as the network coordinator since it handles all the authentication and message buffering related tasks. This device receives information and measurement from the wireless network and operates as a bridge between the 802.15.4 network and the Ethernet network. The NI WSN-9791 can accommodate as many as 36 nodes and maintains a list of authorized nodes. You can easily connect this Ethernet Gateway Device to your existing Ethernet network or to a host computer via a standard Category 5 Ethernet cable.

The NI WSN-9791 is an easy-to-configure device, which comes with LED status indicators to show the state of the device. This device offers low power, yet reliable communication with the connected measurement nodes. The NI WSN-9791 and the wireless measurement nodes work together to operate in a mesh network. 

WSN-9791 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Ethernet Gateway Device will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
