National Instruments WSN-9792 RT Controller with Integrated Gateway for WSN

The NI WSN-9792 (Part Number: 781294-01) is a RT Controller with Integrated Gateway for Wireless Sensor Networks. The WSN-9792 is widely used in the construction of WSN networks, since it provides an interface between various wireless nodes and the host network. This RT Controller supports wireless connectivity with its associated nodes and connects to the host network or PC through Ethernet. The NI WSN-9792 comes equipped with a standard RS-232 serial port that supports various input and display devices. Moreover, you can connect a common mass USB storage device with this RT Controller.

The National Instruments WSN-9792 RT Controller comes with an integrated, real-time processor, 256 MB of DDR2 RAM, and 2 GB onboard storage. This RT Controller has a radio communication range of 300 meters. In a mesh configuration, the WSN-9792 can communicate with up to 36 measurement nodes. This RT Controller not only supports communication over Ethernet but can also communicate with other devices through various standards, including modbus, TCP/IP, and serial. The integrated 2.4 GHz radio of the NI WSN-9792 can communicate with other devices with high precision and 250 kbits/s RF data rate.

The NI WSN-9792 RT Controller operates in the ISM 2.4 GHz frequency band and has 11 – 24 channels. This configurable gateway supports 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps communications through its redundant Ethernet ports. The serial port supports up to 400 bps baud rate and various types of flow control in DTR/DSR, RTS/CTS, or XON/XOFF mode. The USB port supports up to 480 Mb/s maximum data rate.

WSN-9792 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the RT Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
