National Instruments PCIe-6321 Multifunction I/O Device

The PCIe-6321 (Part Number: 781044-01) is a PCI Express based Multifunction I/O Device from the X Series by National Instruments. This model offers analog and digital I/O that is divided out into 16 analog input channels, 2 analog output channels, and 24 digital I/O channels. In addition, the NI PCIe-6321 features four 32-bit timers equipped for applications such as PWM, frequency, encoder, event counting, etc. This Multifunction I/O Device is well suited for a variety of applications, including but not limited to, basic data logging, test automation, and control automation.

With the help of the high-throughput PCI Express bus, the PCIe-6321 X Series DAQ delivers high-performance functionality. Integrated with NI-STC3 synchronization and timing technology, this I/O device is capable of providing advance level timing functionality- including re-triggerable measurement tasks and digital and analog timing engines.

Using the NI-DAQmx configuration software and driver, the NI PCIe-6321 may be rapidly configured. The device has the capacity to obtain samples at a speed of 250 kS/s on one or more analog channels. The 4 general-purpose counters of the PCIe-6321 have 32 bits of resolution and may be used for a variety of counter and position measures. These counters have a 50 ppm base clock accuracy and operate between 0 and 25 MHz external base clock frequency.

The NI PCIe-6321 Multifunction I/O Device supports external digital triggers through any PFI and RTSI source. This model comes equipped with several digital waveform generations and waveform acquisition functions, such as a start/pause trigger, sample clock, reference trigger, and a sample clock timebase. To ensure reliability and accuracy, it is recommended for the PCIe-6321 to be calibrated every 2 years.

Physically, the printed circuit board of the PCIe-6321 device measures 9.9 cm × 16.8 cm (3.9 in. × 6.6 in.) and weighs 104 g (3.6 oz). The device has an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C with an operating humidity of 10% to 90% (noncondensing). When in storage, the NI PCIe-6321 can be safely kept in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 70 °C with a humidity of 5% to 95%.
