Spirent SmartBits GX-1420B Gigabit Module

The SmartBits GX-1420B is a high-performance Copper wire Gigabit Module. The designer and developer of the SmartBits GX-1420B Copper Gigabit Module is Spirent Communications. The GX-1420B module is specifically designed to investigate the performance of complex and large-scale set-ups of routers and switches in network systems. The operation of the SmartBits GX-1420B module is customizable as per users’ needs to comply with diverse conditions of testing, analysis, and capturing of traffic. This is achieved by using the SmartBits GX-1420B Gigabit Module with Spirent SmartBits software tools.

The GX-1420B Gigabit Module offers 1 port to support 100/1000 Mbps Ethernet features. Full-duplex testing can be carried out by using the GX-1420B. The frame size supported by the GX-1420B Gigabit Module ranges from 20 to 2048 bytes. Furthermore, the GX-1420B can perform transmission of continuous, single-burst, multiple bursts, and Echo. Featuring IP Checksum error recognition, the SmartBits GX-1420B can capture 86 – 2048 packets of standard size.  The SmartBits GX-1420B module’s receive function presents the detailed picture of Triggers, Counters, Latency, and Flow Control thereby augmenting the analysis features of the module.

The Spirent SmartBits GX-1420B Gigabit Module works with the SmartBits SMB-200 and SMB-2000 Network Performance Analyzer Devices and occupies two slots on each chassis. The SmartBits GX-1420B module offers an RJ-45 interface. The CAT 5 cable can be connected through the RJ-45 interface of the GX-1420B module up to 100 meters. The design of the SmartBits GX-1420B module complies with the IEEE standard specifications 802.3ab. The SmartBits GX-1420B module can be configured and controlled through Windows 98, 2000, and NT OS.
