The SmartBits LAN-3201B is a high-performance GigE SmartMetrics Module. The SmartBits LAN-3201B module is designed and manufactured by Spirent Communications. Embedded with powerful tracking features, the SmartBits LAN-3201B module is deployed for products’ testing, quality assurance, validation, and qualification purposes. The SmartBits LAN-3201B GigE SmartMetrics Module is primarily developed for Layer 3 network devices. The degree of performance and synchronization of integrated network devices can be checked and analyzed by using the SmartBits LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet Module. However, Layer 2 network devices are also compatible with the SmartBits LAN-3201B module.

The SmartBits LAN-3201B SmartMetrics Gigabit Ethernet Module works with the SmartBits SMB-600 and SmartBits SMB-6000B Network Performance Analysis Systems. The SmartBits LAN-3201B module is installed in only one port of either of the abovementioned Spirent SmartBits Chassis. Featuring a single port interface, the SmartBits LAN-3201B module can generate and analyze Ethernet traffic streams. Up to 512 million IP flows with 8,192 peer-to-peer streams can be supported by the SmartBits LAN-3201B module. Moreover, the SmartBits LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet Module is a powerful device that can simulate a maximum of 8,192 network devices in LAN. 

The SmartBits LAN-3201B SmartMetrics Gigabit Ethernet Module can examine the performance parameters in a network consisting of GigE routers under normal as well as heavily loaded conditions. In addition to the testing, the statistical comparative studies of GigE routers can also be performed with the help of the SmartBits LAN-3201B module. The SmartBits LAN-3201B module comes with a GBIC interface, which enables users to convert the interface into a single or multimode fiber interface. The Windows operating system is used to control and configure the parameters of the SmartBits LAN-3201B module.
